For the seventh year in a row, Malta International Airport (MIA) has been recognised as one of Europe’s top airports in the 5 to 15 million passenger category by the Airports Council International.

This ranking is based on direct passenger feedback collected through the globally recognised Airport Service Quality (ASQ) survey, which evaluates 367 airports across 95 countries.

MIA CEO Alan Borg expressed pride in the achievement, highlighting how the airport managed to maintain exceptional service quality even while welcoming a record-breaking 9 million passengers in a single year.

“Even amid record traffic and major infrastructure upgrades, the team remained steadfast in delivering a seamless and enjoyable airport experience to our guests. I am incredibly proud to see Malta International Airport once again ranked among Europe’s best,” Borg stated.

With an overall satisfaction score of 4.39 out of 5, MIA secured a spot among the top 8 of 119 participating European airports.

Passengers gave above-average ratings in key areas such as terminal ambiance, cleanliness, staff courtesy, and ease of wayfinding.

MIA also reported strong February 2025 traffic results, with 560,553 passengers passing through the airport—an 18.2% increase over February 2024.
