Malta Clinches Draw Against Croatia To Power Through To Playoffs Of Rugby Europe International Championship
Malta’s rugby team has continued to surge forward after they clinched a draw with Croatia to power through to the playoffs of the Rugby Europe International Championship.
After leading 5-0 in the opening exchanges, the Maltese team fell behind. Overturning a 15-8 deficit, Team Malta, led by coach Damian Neil, showed that their talent and grit to draw 18-18.
Malta took top spot of the Conference 1 South table after an away win agains Cyprus last month.
In a facebook post, Malta Rugby Football Union praised the teams strong performance and more importantly the well-earned support of the local crowd.
The rugby team’s victory follows serious hype around Malta’s national teams, with a number of athletes making their mark on the international stage.
