Malta Hits Record High For Registered Influencers

Malta has seen a record rise in registered influencers and content creators, according to new figures tabled in Parliament by Home Affairs, Security and Labour Minister Byron Camilleri.
Data from Jobsplus reveals that the number of people officially registered as influencers has grown from just three in 2020 to 13 by April 2025, while the number of registered content creators climbed from 29 to 86 in the same period.
The growth has been steady year after year, with 2023 seeing five influencers and 65 content creators, jumping again in 2024 to 11 influencers and 81 creators.
Industry observers say the upward trend reflects how digital content creation is becoming a recognised profession in Malta, as more creators take their work seriously enough to register it formally.
