Malta Hotel Lobby Head Is ‘Definitely’ Ready To Get COVID-19 Vaccine
Tony Zahra, the head of Malta Hotels & Restaurants Association, has committed to getting the COVID-19 vaccine to protect him and his family.
“I will take the vaccine as I want to show respect and protect my family, my friends and all the people that I come in contact with,” he said.
“I want to also have some protection myself from the virus.”
In a press release issued earlier today, the MHRA claimed that the vaccine is the country’s way “out of the pandemic” which has engulfed the country for the better half of 2020.
The head of the MHRA had advocated heavily for the reopening of the airport over the summer, after it was closed temporarily to prevent the spread of the virus, warning that if it didn’t open it would lead to mass unemployment.
However, he later did a semi u-turn after admitting that Malta might have reopened mass events too early following the arrival of the second wave of the pandemic.
“This is incredibly good news as life will be able to return to some normality once the whole population has been vaccinated and herd immunity is achieved,” he said in response to the arrival of the vaccine.
Malta received its first consignment of the new Pzifer-BioNTech on Boxing Day and is expected to inoculate 10,000 healthcare workers and vulnerable people over the coming weeks.
