Malta Masseuse Snatches Podium Position At World Championships
A Hungarian woman who has been a resident of Malta for the past four years flew our flag all the way to Copenhagen, Denmark for the World Championships for Massage Therapists. Yes, they’re a real thing.
Rita Ban, who studied at Semmelweis Medical University in Hungary, managed to beat out most of the competition, earning herself (and Malta) a silver medal.
“I love Malta and I have made it my second home – for me it was a natural choice and I am proud of what I have achieved!” said Rita, who took part in the highly specialised sector of Asian Massage. She came a very close second to the eventual winner and World Champion Ms Naree Seume from Thailand.
“ I prepared myself, but never expected to do so well against such high levels of professionalism and knowledge. I am very pleased.”
If you’re looking to get a massage from a silver-medal-winning masseuse, then head on down to the Sunflower Hotel in St. Paul’s Bay.
