Malta’s police force uniform is set for a revamp by the end of the year, Home Affairs Byron Camilleri has confirmed.

Speaking following a parliamentary question from MP Ivan Bartolo, Camilleri said the process to change police officers’ uniforms is already underway.

Designs for the new uniforms had previously been revealed but are yet to be introduced among the force.

The new uniform aims to improve image uniformity between all different sections of the Malta Police Force. It also promotes functionality, safety and suitability to the local climate.

In developing the new uniform, the Malta Police Force has embarked on an arduous market research process, and above all, taking into consideration the expert opinion of the officers.
