Malta’s massive EuroPride is just around the corner. In honour of this, Parliamentary Secretary for Reforms and Equality Rebecca Buttigieg attended the Pride March in Vienna to promote the islands’ massive and proud event.

Buttigieg addressed a massive crowd of three hundred thousand to herald free speech and equality in the EU.

“During Pride Month we continue to work in favor of equality in everyday life. Moments and activities like these provide a strong platform for civil society to deliver their message against the discrimination that still exists today, including homophobia and transphobia,” the parliamentary secretary affirmed.

As a government, we will remain committed to ensuring that our country continues to be at the forefront of civil rights, with the aim of serving as a strong example for every country in the European Union to follow in our footsteps and legislate in favour of more civil rights that ensure equality.”

Malta will be hosting EuroPride 2023, next September, which event will be important in the history of civil rights in our country.
