Malta’s Basketball Team Reaches Final In Small Countries Championship After Win Over Azerbaijan
Malta has reached the final of the FIBA Euro Championship for Small Countries after beating Azerbaijan.
Malta came through the nail-biting encounter with Samuel Deguara emerging as the top scorer with 18 points along with 11 rebounds, while Tevin Falzon and Nelson Kahler also posted big double-doubles in the win.
It was a one-point game by half-time but Malta ended up leading comfortably by the end.
Malta will face Armenia in today’s final after they beat Andorra 54-29, who Malta beat earlier in the week with a last-second three-pointer.
The final takes place at 18.30 at Ta’ Qali.
