Malta’s Gold Medal Count Head To Head With Cyprus As Total Of 61 Medals Won In GSSE

Malta has continued to dominate the stage at the Games of the Small States of Europe, leaving its mark with an impressive collection of gold medals – coming head to head with Cyprus.

With an impressive medal tally of 61, Malta has emerged as a powerhouse, capturing 25 gold, 18 silver, and 18 bronze medals, solidifying its outstanding reputation in these games.

In a thrilling display of talent, Francesca Curmi and Elaine Genovese claimed gold medals in the women’s doubles final.

Not to be outdone, Matija Pecotic demonstrated exceptional skill as he snatched the first gold medal in the men’s singles, proudly representing Malta against the formidable Lucas Catarina from Monaco.

Adding to Malta’s extraordinary accomplishments, Kate Georgia Bohl triumphed in the Women’s 50m Breaststroke, gracefully gliding her way to a well-deserved gold medal.

Reflecting on Malta’s remarkable journey, it is worth noting that the country’s previous best performance was in 2003 when it celebrated a smashing total of 44 medals, including 11 gold, 18 silver, and 15 bronze.
