Maltese Athlete Janet Richard Heads Off To Budapest To Compete At Athletics World Championships This Weekend

Maltese athlete Janet Richard is on the way to Budapest where she will be competing in the biggest athletics event of the year, the World Championships in Budapest.
The 25-year-old will be representing Malta in her speciality, the 400m which she has been performing consistently throughout in recent years.
Richard’s dedication and determination to training helped her to set a new national record earlier this summer when she finished second in the European Team Championships in Silesia, Poland.
Janet is also a GSSE gold medallist with a long list of achievements. She managed to complete the one-lap race with a strong time of 52.37 seconds in Chorzow on 20th June where she lowered her own previous national standard of 53.49 by almost a seconds which she had set in last year’s Euro Championships in Munich.
This is the second World Championships that she will be participating in after her first experience in Doha Qatar, back in 2019 where she managed to set a new personal best in the preliminary contest.
Janet is accompanied by Coach Rebecca Sare’ and her qualifying heat is scheduled for Sunday 20th August.
Good luck Janet for your competition!
