Maltese Boxer Crowned Undefeated Champion In Australia
Maltese boxer Haithem Laamouz has won all nine of his last fights (including three Knock Outs), and last Saturday, he took home the title of OPBF Silver Title’s Super Lightweight Champion.
Originally from Sliema, Haithem moved to Australia eighteen months ago with one dream in mind; becoming a world champion boxer. “If you want to reach the top, you can’t do it from where I’m from,” he said.
Haithem took his chances, left his loved ones behind and moved to New South Wales, where he constantly trains under the wing of veteran coach Nudge Mieli. And if his perfect record is anything to go by, he’s onto something very big.
Last Saturday’s final saw Haithem face Indonesia’s Roy Tua Manihuruk, with the 27-year-old Maltese boxer winning the super lightweight contest at the end of 10 rounds.
Laamouz has been making waves in New South Wales for a while now, and was even featured on WIN News Illawarra ahead of his big fight on Saturday.
