Maltese Drivers Really Improved Over Last 30 Years, Veteran Instructor Says
A veteran driving instructor has called for more avenues for Maltese students to learn as they attempt to get their driving license, while saying he’s noticed a clear improvement in the quality of driving on the roads in Malta.
“It’s improved. We have gotten better at driving,” instructor Vince Mizzi told host Keith Demicoli during an episode of TVAM.
Mizzi, who has been teaching driving lessons for nearly thirty years, said that it was clear the level of driving improved nationally over the last three decades – but more still needs to be done.
“Keith, we are the seed, and we need more work to be done,” Mizzi said, referring to the driving instruction sector.
“We need more books, more lessons and lectures – I’m forced to tell students to go online to find out more as unfortunately, we don’t have our own highway codes in Malta, so i cant even send them to a local shop to buy some books, we need to look overseas.”
He urged for more access to information to be made readily available to young students, especially as European discussions are being held to drop the legal age for drivers to 17, such as they have in Austria and Germany.
Do you think Maltese drivers have gotten better over the last 30 years?
