A 37-year-old Maltese man and a 29-year-old woman were recently arrested after they stole from a driver’s car while he was standing nearby in Marsa.

Yesterday at around 8pm, a 32-year-old man resident of Birkirkara filed a police report about an incident that had happened a few moments before along Triq is-Salib tal-Marsa, in Marsa. 

He was approached by a man and a woman, with the woman asking him for some money. A few seconds later, the woman went into his car and stole his wallet, while the man kicked the side of the car, before they both fled the scene.

With their descriptions in hand, police commenced searches immediately, with the perpetrators being located a few moments later. The woman was found along Triq is-Sajjied, while the man was found in a shop nearby.

Both are now in police custody.
