A 40-year-old Maltese man is at risk of dying after falling off a ladder while working in Qormi.

The incident occurred earlier today at around 11am, along Triq l-Iskultur, Qormi, police have confirmed.

The man, a resident of Luqa, fell off the ladder he was working on after suffering an electric shock. 

An ambulance and a medical team were called on site, who transported the man to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment, where it was certified he is suffering from injuries of a serious nature.

Magistrate Joe Mifsud is leading an inquiry, while investigations by the police and the Occupational Health and Safety Authority are ongoing.
