Maltese Man Dies After Experiencing Difficulty While Swimming In Qawra
An 81-year-old resident of St Paul’s Bay has died after experiencing difficulty while swimming in Qawra.
The incident happened on 24th July at 5.45pm in an area off Triq Dawret il-Gżejjer in Qawra.
Upon arriving on the scene, police were told that there a dead man could be in the sea.
An Armed Forces ferry headed to the scene, where the man was picked up and taken to the Naval Base in Xatt it-Tiben.
He was unfortunately certified dead shortly after.
Magistrate Caroline Farrugia Frendo is leading the inquiry, while police investigations are still ongoing.
