Maltese Pilot And His Wife Tragically Killed In Texas Plane Crash
A Maltese pilot and his wife have been tragically killed in a plane crash in Texas, US officials have confirmed.
Carmel Azzopardi, 75, was flying a Cessna C421 over Roberts County, with his wife, 49-year-old Paula Azzopardi, as his passenger. At one point, the light aircraft crashed and killed the couple, for reasons which are still under investigation.
Although the couple lived in Amarillo, Carmel Azzopardi’s roots were in Malta. According to The Times of Malta, he moved to the US when he was young and his three children all live in Malta.
