Enforcement officers have fined 172 people for breaching COVID-19 rules on social gatherings in private homes last week.

Figures published by Health Ministry revealed that at least 1,880 COVID-19-related fines were given out in a single week.

Out of this figure, 1,222 were related to mask-wearing and 473 were fined for being in groups of more than two.

No more than two households are allowed to convene in private homes, following new measures introduced on March 17th to curb the rise of virus infections. Some restrictions are set to be eased by April 11th.
