Maltese Policeman Saves Little Boy’s Day After He Misses Morning Bus To Birkirkara School
With Malta’s busy roads and hectic mornings, someone’s bound to get left behind in the hustle and bustle.
But this brings us to our wholesome moment of the week, when a Maltese policeman took it upon himself to drive a boy to school when he noticed him stranded after missing the morning school bus.
The father, John Wieber, told Lovin Malta about the “wonderful gesture” from a young police officer, wishing to praise the officer for his act of kindness.
“Today I wish to highlight a wonderful gesture from a young Maltese police officer, Officer Psaila. I was waiting for the school van with my son at 6.15am this very morning, and due to multiple buses at the bus stop at the same time, the school van missed us,” Wieber told Lovin Malta.
“I went rushing to manage to get the driver’s attention but eventually he drove off. However, a police car stopped near me, and an officer asked me if something happened to me or if I needed any assistance since he saw me running in the middle of the street,” he detailed.
“I told him we had just missed the bus and that since I don’t drive, it’s quite impossible to take my son to school due to work commitments.”
“He asked me where my son’s school is, and I told him in Birkirkara, and he immediately told me to get in the car and that he will give us a lift himself.”
“I wish to thank this officer for going out of his way and helping us out, especially when being a foreigner in a new country. My son Otto says thank you!”
