Maltese Woman Dies After Being Struck Crossing The Road In Qrendi
A woman has died as a result of a traffic incident in Qrendi this morning.
The woman, an 81-year-old who lives in Qrendi, was struck by a Volkswagen vehicle being driven by a 30-year-old woman from Mqabba. She was struck as she was crossing Triq it-Tempesta, in the Maqluba area at around 8am this morning.
Police confirmed that the woman died on site.
Magistrate Claire Stafrace Zammit has been appointed to oversee an inquiry into the death.
