A Maltese woman has launched a callout to the general public, in particular the residents of St. Paul’s Bay and Xemxija, after a stranger attacked her and tried dragging her into an abandoned building while she was walking her dog in the area this morning.

“Talking in Maltese, he was aggressively commanding me to go inside while grabbing me from the neck, shoulders and my arm,” she wrote in a public Facebook post. “With me resisting, he got even angrier and started swearing at me to further intimidate me. It was when he grabbed the dog’s leash that Żukey lost it and started to lash aggressively at him, with the man stepping back, giving me time to turn back round and go call my partner for help!”

“Police were called and I was taken to the clinic for a medical check-up. I ended up with bruises, scratches, finger print marks around my shoulders, neck and chest area plus muscle spasms and neck and back pains and shocked to the core and in pain!”

She reported the case to the police and is asking the public to assist them in their investigations.

“If you know of a man who is a bit dark skinned (samrani), around 6ft with neck tattoos that roams around the area please contact the police as the police are still looking around for him around the areas of Xemxija/St Paul’s Bay bypass etc.”

“He was wearing a black/dark grey tracksuit bottoms and black T-shirt. Talks Maltese very well but with an accent. Please be aware as if this person is insane enough to approach a woman with a dog he knows nothing about, then he is clearly very dangerous. All this while I was walking my baby minding my own business! If it had not been my dog I could have ended up raped or worse! IN BROAD DAYLIGHT.”

“Please share so we find this man before he hurts another person!”
