Man Arrested After Hit-And-Run Incident Leaves Woman Grievously Injured In St Julian’s

A 30-year-old woman from Għaxaq was left with grievous injuries after being struck by a car in the early hours of the morning in St Julian’s.

The incident occurred around 4.00am on Triq id-Dragunara, with the vehicle allegedly fleeing the scene.

Emergency services were immediately called, and the woman was rushed to Mater Dei Hospital for treatment. She was later certified to be suffering from grievous injuries.

Following intensive investigations, police identified and located a Toyota Vitz believed to be involved in the hit-and-run.

A 26-year-old man from San Ġwann was arrested in connection with the incident and is currently under investigation.

Magistrate Philip Galea Farrugia has been appointed to lead the inquiry, while police investigations are ongoing.
