Man Arrested At Marsa Sports Ground After Allegedly Threatening To Rape Children
Police have arrested a man at the Marsa Sports Ground who reportedly threatened to rape children participating in a sporting event.
TVM published audio-less mobile phone footage of the visibly inebriated man quarrelling with two women before running up a flight of stairs and dancing away. The footage then snaps to two police officers pinning the man to the ground, handcuffing him and dragging him into a Rapid Intervention Unit police car.
According to TVM, the man was smoking at the Marsa Sports Ground and was told to stop by parents of the children playing there. An argument ensued, and witnesses told the state broadcaster that the man ran onto the pitch and threatened to rape the children. A group of parents and teachers chased after the man and pinned him down until police officers arrived on scene.
