A 78-year-old man is at risk of dying after being hit by a motorcycle in Mġarr this afternoon

The incident took place at 12pm in Triq Għajn Tuffieħa.

From initial reports, it was revealed the man, resident of Mġarr, was hit by a Kawasaki motorcycle which was being driven by a 33-year-old man from Mellieħa.

The man received medical assistance and was transported to the hospital by ambulance and was later certified with serious injuries.

The driver of the motorcycle went for treatment at a Health centre and was certified to have slight injuries.

Magistrate Joseph Gatt is leading an inquiry and police investigations are ongoing.
