A man who was run over by a van this morning in Żejtun is at risk of dying.

A spokesperson for the police confirmed with Lovin Malta that the incident occurred at around 9.20am along Triq Id-Daħla ta’ San Tumas.

The 69-year-old man was hit by an Isuzu Elf truck, which was being driven by a 62-year-old man. Both men are residents of Żejtun.

The victim was taken to Mater Dei hospital to receive treatment and it has been confirmed that he is suffering from serious injuries. 

Magistrate Josette Demicoli is leading an inquiry, and police investigations are underway.
