A man is at risk of dying after fainting in a water reservoir due to inhaling toxic gasses in Attard on Sunday.

Police were informed about the incident yesterday at around 11.15am, which occurred in an area known as Tal-Ħofra, in the limits of Attard.

Members from the Civil Protection Department joined the police to rescue the man. Investigations found that he was conducting work in the water reservoir when he fainted after inhaling toxic gasses.

The victim was transported to Mater Dei Hospital for care, where he was certified to be suffering from serious injuries. 

The man’s identity is still unknown at the time of writing.

Magistrate Ian Farrugia is leading an inquiry, while the OHSA is also conducting an investigation.
