Update: This morning, police reported the man unfortunately lost his life after succumbing to his injuries.

A man is currently fighting for his life at Mater Dei after sustaining serious injuries when he fell from a ladder in Xemxija yesterday.

The incident took place at 4.30pm in Triq l-Awwista.

Initial investigations revealed the 76-year-old man, who lives in St Paul’s Bay, was doing some maintenance when he fell from a ladder in a private residence.

The man received medical assistance and was transported to Mater Dei by ambulance and was later certified with serious injuries.

Magistrate Joseph Mifsud is leading an inquiry while police investigations are ongoing.
