A man is currently fighting for his life at Mater Dei after sustaining serious injuries from a one-storey fall at a construction site in Ħamrun.

The incident took place at 7.30am in Triq il-Kbira San Ġuzepp.

The 31-year-old man from Birkirkara fell from the third floor to the second while he was doing some work at the construction site.

The man received medical assistance and was transported to Mater Dei by ambulance and was later certified with serious injuries. 

A magisterial inquiry led by Magistrate Abigail Critien is underway.

The police and OHSA are also conducting an investigation.
