A 50-year-old man from Birżebbuġa is at risk of dying after hitting a wall in a car crash in Żejtun in the early hours of the morning.

The incident happened around 3.30am on Saturday on Triq Tal-Barrani.

A medical team took the man, who was driving a Maruti Gypsy, to Mater Dei for treatment, where he was certified with serious injuries.

Magistrate Gianella Camilleri Busuttil is leading an inquiry. Police are investigating.
