Man At Risk Of Dying Following Delimara Boat Fire Incident
A man is currently fighting for his life after suffering burns during a boat fire incident in Delimara earlier today.
Initial investigations revealed the 46-year-old man from Żurrieq suffered burns in his body after the boat he was on caught fire.
Members of the Armed Forces of Malta and of the Civil Protection immediately went to the scene and found to the victim in the sea. After they took him aboard the lifeboat, he was brought ashore, where a medical team was waiting for him who gave him first aid.
The boat sank down shortly after CPD extinguished the fire.
An ambulance took the man to Mater Dei for treatment where it was certified that he was suffering from serious injuries.
The Magistrate Antoine Agius Bonnici was informed of the case and appointed an inquiry while the investigations by the Police are still ongoing.
