Man Being Held By Police After The Discovery Of 53 Dead Birds Including Protected Species In Mosta Shop

The police’s Administrative Law Enforcement agency discovered 53 dead birds in a shop in Mosta, most of which were protected species.

At around 12 pm today, police were notified of a man (aged 32) who had been spotted entering a shop on Triq Gużeppi Callus in Mosta, allegedly carrying protected bird species on him.

Police descended on the spot immediately where they discovered 53 dead birds in a freezer including eagles, storks and ducks.

Another search conducted at the man’s residence resulted in the discovery of an unspecified number of stuffed birds.

All birds have been confiscated and the man is currently being interrogated by the police.
