Man Charged With Beating Up Girlfriend And Attacking Three Officers At Naxxar Police Station

A 35-year-old man has been charged with beating up his girlfriend and attacking two police officers and an inspector right in front of the Naxxar police station.
The man, who hails from Cospicua, has been accused of following his girlfriend to the police station, where she went to file a report against him, and then punching her right in front of the police officers, causing her to start bleeding.
He then allegedly proceeded to attack the officers and inspector, insult and threaten them and disobey their orders.
The man is pleading not guilty to the charges and his lawyer Franco Debono criticised the police for not telling the court the full story.
He said his client was already bleeding at the time of the incident after cutting his hand against smashed glass and that the woman had tried to make him crash while driving on the Coast Road by grabbing the steering wheel.
He pleaded not guilty and was granted bail against a deposit of €6,000 and personal guarantee of €8,000. He has also been ordered to observe a curfew and sign a bail book every day.
