A 63-year-old Naxxar resident has died after getting crushed by a bus that rolled back on its own. The man got trapped between the vehicle and a wall in the Floriana Park and Ride and died shortly after the incident.

Police were informed of the incident at 1.45pm and officers quickly went on site. They found that a Mercedes Citaro bus began moving on its own, resulting in the man becoming trapped between a wall and the side of the bus.

A medical team from Mater Dei Hospital rushed to the scene and the man was taken to the hospital by ambulance. Unfortunately, he was certified dead shortly after.
