A man was fatally crushed by a skip loader truck in a Xewkija factory on Friday.

Police identified the victim as 50-year-old Lorry Zerafa from Nadur, Gozo.

A spokesperson explained that the incident happened in the evening at around 7pm.

Zerafa had gotten off a skip loader that he was driving, when the vehicle moved and reversed back, crushing him to the wall.

Civil protection was called and Zerafa was certified dead on the scene.

Investigations are ongoing.
