A man has been found guilty of threatening journalist Manuel Delia.

The incident happened in February while Delia was in a car with his wife, daughter and friend in Gozo.

Edward Attard was driving in the opposite direction and a parked car meant it was difficult to manoeuvre.

Once Attard noticed it was Delia, he began shouting at him, boasting of his Labour Party support and calling Delia “miserable”.

The situation calmed down but a few minutes later Delia received an anonymous phone call, with the person on the other line continuing the abuse.

A representative from Epic later confirmed the call came from Attard’s phone.

Attard was handed a two-year suspended sentence and was ordered by the court to receive treatment for his anger problems.
