A man was stabbed and left in a pool of blood in Birkirkara this evening, with a police search underway for the assailant. 

TVM reported that the man was stabbed in Triq il-Wied, close to a catering establishment, with sources on the site telling them he was found in a pool of blood.

He was rushed to hospital and police have launched an investigation.
