A 29-year-old Libyan man was found on the floor in the early hours of the morning after allegedly being hit by a glass bottle and a car in Gżira.

Police were alerted for assistance on Triq ix-Xatt, Gżira at 3.15am this morning, where the victim was found wounded on the pavement.

A medical team was brought onto the scene and the victim was certified with sustaining several injuries.

Preliminary investigations found that an argument had broke out between the Libyan and a 34-year-old Maltese man earlier on.

The victim tried to flee the scene but the other man followed him in a car to Triq ix-Xatt, allegedly hitting him and fleeing himself.

The vehicle was found abounded near the crime scene.

The aggressor was caught and arrested.
