Preliminary investigations revealed that the Nepalese man found himself in difficulty while swimming after hitting his head on the rocks and sustaining injuries.

He was assisted by a medical team and taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance, where he was later certified as suffering from serious injuries.

Police investigations are underway.
