A 27-year-old man was chased by police halfway around Malta with three kilos of cannabis in his car.

Kane Grima, a Valletta resident, was stopped by police while driving along Triq Tal-Barrani, Żejtun, last Saturday, TVM reported. He tried to give police the slip and managed to drive all the way to Madliena – crashing into a number of police cars and vehicles – on the way.

His journey came to an end in Madliena, where police arrested him and confiscated his vehicle, where they found around three kilograms of cannabis.

Grima was today prosecuted with several charges, including aggravated drug possession, reckless driving, disobeying police orders, possession an unlicensed weapon, relapsing, and breaking the conditions of a probation order, a suspended sentence and two bail decrees.

His lawyers Franco Debono and Marion Camilleri didn’t request bail at this stage.
