A man is in critical condition after being hit by a car being driven by a 61-year-old woman in Ħamrun yesterday evening.

The police were called for assistance at 6pm on St Joseph High Street and upon arriving they found that the man, whose identity is currently unknown, was hit by a Toyota Ractisli being driven by a Żebbuġ resident.

He was assisted by a medical team before being taken to Mater Dei by ambulance. Here, his injuries were certified as serious.

Magistrate Antoine Agius Bonnici was informed of the case and appointed an inquiry. Police investigations are ongoing.
