A 31-year-old man being sought over attempting to murder another man is under police custody after authorities issued a public appeal to help find the man.

Muhamad Topik Hidayat, from Indonesia and lives in Fgura, was located within hours after the public appeal.

Hidayat was wanted after being accused of attempting to kill another Indonesian man during an argument in an apartment on William Lassell Street, where both of the men lived, back in 2021.

When police arrived at the residence, officers reportedly found the men covered in blood, with the victim found to have sustained a number of injuries.
