Marsa Mayor Calls Out TikToker For ‘Shameful’ Video Insulting The Police
Marsa mayor Josef Azzopardi has called out a TikToker for publishing a video insulting the Maltese police force that went viral online.
In the video, which has been viewed over 21,000 times, “Mona” mocked the police as pufti, a derogatory term for homosexuals, saying that they do nothing when you call them and that they “pass your name on to criminals”.

“I wholeheartedly condemn that person who uploaded a video insulting the police,” Azzopardi said.
“Using such derogatory words is shameful and condemnable. Unfortunately, the police must deal with ungrateful people who provoke them and cause trouble, some of whom believe that they are above the law and that they can do as they please on our streets.”
“The problem is that sometimes institutions, including medical professional and the courts, stop the police from taking action against these people. Institutions need to work hand in hand in this country to ensure that peace, which we need so much, and justice, which I feel is sorely lacking, can reign supreme.”
“I express my solidarity with the police; don’t allow anyone to demoralise you in your line of work.”
