Marsa Parish Church Promotes Same-Sex Couples: ‘God’s House Is For Everyone’
Is this a sign that the times are changing? Marsa’s Marija Reġina Parish Church has used photos of same-sex couples to help promote its new Sunday Masses for couples.
The was shared by the Malta Gay Rights Movement, who informed its followers that the mass for couples will be organised on a monthly basis, starting this Sunday, and will be followed with social time and coffee.
Parish priest Anthony Fitzpatrick shared the MGRM’s post and said that “God’s house belongs to everyone”.
The Marsa Parish has only been in the hands of the Archdiocese of Malta since September after it was transferred from the Order of Friars Minor Capuchin. Its bold decision to include same-sex couples in a promo for mass shows it isn’t afraid to shake things up.
Recently, Pope Francis suggested that the Church could bless same-sex couples so long as this isn’t confused with the blessing with sacramental marriage.
