Marsaskala Traffic Victim Identified As 67-Year-Old Man From Żejtun

The cyclist who died in a traffic incident earlier this morning was confirmed to be a 67-year-old man from Żejtun.
Police were informed of the incident at around 10am on Triq Villabate, Wied il-Għajn.
Initial investigations revealed that the collision involved a Peugeot Partner van driven by a 38-year-old man from the Ivory Coast residing in Marsa, a Nissan March driven by a 43-year-old Italian man, and a 67-year-old cyclist residing in Żejtun.
A 38-year-old Italian woman was also in the Nissan and was taken to Mater Dei Hospital by ambulance.
The cyclist was assisted by a medical team on site but was unfortunately certified dead. The condition of the Italian woman remains unknown.
Police investigations are currently ongoing.
