Mater Dei ‘Categorically Denies Misleading Rumour’ That Patient Died In Hospital Corridors

Mater Dei Hospital has “categorically denied” that a patient died in the corridors of the Emergency department after his previous records couldn’t be found.

“The hospital can confirm that this story is a misleading rumour and that the hospital at no point stopped treating this patient or preclude the patient from entering into a hall due to some process related to the patient’s files,” the Health Ministry said today.

Their response comes after NET News reported that a patient died in a corridor last night after staff members were unable to locate an older file of his. NET based their reporting on “sources” they said could be relied on.

The Health Ministry condemned this “false reporting”, saying it only causes alarm among the public, and shines a negative light on the staff and workers within the Emergency Department of Mater Dei, who “work day and night to save lives”.
