Mater Dei Hospital To Screen All Visitors And Restrict Visiting Hours To Stop The Spread Of Coronavirus In Malta
Mater Dei hospital has stepped up its preventative measures in an effort to minimise the spread of the coronavirus in Malta, with new visiting hours and screenings being undertaken.
The measures will take place from Wednesday, 11th March, and will see visiting hours restricted to an hour and a half a day.
“All visitors shall be screened before entering the hospital,” the Mater Dei team said. “As a result, please expect some waiting time and queues before entering the hospital. This includes MDH main entrance, Day-care, Outpatient, A&E and SAMOC.”
Visiting hours will be restricted as well, with only one patient allowed per visit.
Hospital Visiting Hours shall be revised as follows:
Monday to Sunday
– 11:30 to 12:00
– 17:00 to 18:00
The hospital’s team has thanked the public for their cooperation in advance.
If you are feeling unwell, please follow the following guidelines:
Stay indoors and avoid contact with other people, as you would with the flu.
Do not go to Mater Dei, the emergency department, health centres, private clinics, or pharmacies. Stay home and call the public health authority’s helpline 111.
You can call +356 21324086 for advice.
Avoid calling 112 unless it is a real emergency. That emergency line is crucial in saving lives in peril, and having it be flooded with calls on the coronavirus could have fatal consequences.
