Matthew Caruana Galizia Reacts To The Release Of Keith Schembri
Matthew Caruana Galizia, the son of murdered journalist Daphne Caruana Galizia, has reacted to the late-night release of Keith Schembri “despite damning evidence” that he was involved in the murder of his mother.
Schembri’s release comes as an urgent cabinet meeting is being held, and people are spontaneously gathering in Castille Square. There are reports that police are now erecting barricades outside of Castille.
Yorgen Fenech confessed to murder. He shares a doctor with Keith Schembri, Muscat’s chief of staff. That doctor confessed to passing messages from Schembri to Fenech while Fenech was in custody. Despite this damning evidence of criminality, the police released Schembri just now. https://t.co/lFhADN8yj2

Following the late night release, a protest has been called for 6pm tomorrow evening outside of Castille.
Schembri’s release comes after more details have emerged in the ongoing investigation into the murder of Daphne Caruana Galizia. Yorgen Fenech, the Maltese businessman implicated in the assassination plot, this evening sent a letter to President George Vella asking for a presidential pardon in return for new information on Keith Schembri, Chris Cardona and Konrad Mizzi.
