Matthew Zerafa Appointed New Housing Authority CEO To Replace Leonid McKay

Matthew Zerafa has been appointed CEO of the Housing Authority, succeeding Leonid McKay who has taken on a new role in charge of the Cannabis Authority.
Zerafa spent the last few years working as chief of staff of Roderick Galdes’ Ministry for Social and Affordable Accommodation where he worked on initiatives such as the rent reform.
He also acquired some leadership experience in his former role as president of the student organisation Pulse.
McKay had spent four years as CEO of the Housing Authority before he left the job to replace Mariella Dimech as executive chairperson of the Authority on the Responsible Use of Cannabis (ARUC), who was sacked after 10 months in the job.
McKay had previously spent four years as Director of Caritas Malta and was also chairman of the Foundation for the Rehabilitation of Drug Abusers.
