The Medical Council will be investigating Dr Adrian Vella after recent allegations pointed to him as being the messenger between Yorgen Fenech and Keith Schembri, key suspects in the assassination of Daphne Caruana Galizia.

Adrian Vella, who was the Fenech family doctor, was arrested last month and taken in for questioning by police officers after Yorgen Fenech named him as being the messenger for the former Prime Minister’s Chief of Staff Keith Schembri.

His recent arrest has prompted the Medical Council to look into the recent allegations made against him. According to the Times of Malta, the council noted that it was investigating Dr Vella and had discussed him during a scheduled meeting on December 4th.

During the meeting, the council agreed that it would ask the police commissioner for all necessary information pertaining to Dr Vella’s link with the case before it would take any necessary action allowed by Healthcare Professionals Act.
