A nursing graduate from Mellieħa is fighting for his life after being seriously injured in what witnesses are calling an intended attack.

The 22-year-old Maltese youth is now reportedly suffering from a critical head injury after a buscade celebration went very wrong.

Yesterday, the youth and his graduating class celebrated the end of their studies with a bus ride that stopped off at Junior College.

While there, an argument reportedly broke out between the youth and a Junior College student, according to witnesses who were on the scene. The witnesses continued to say that the youth was subsequently punched and pushed off a wall, falling and hitting his head on the pavement.

A police spokesperson confirmed with Lovin Malta that the youth was currently fighting for his life, and that police have officially spoken to at least one person in relation with this attack.
