At least nine buses have been stopped and were unable to continue on their route after a car was left in the middle of a busy Mellieħa road following a car collision.

According to sources near the scene, traffic piled up and vehicles were held back as drivers tried to figure out how to continue down the two-lane road with the car left in the middle of it.

Drivers were being advised to avoid the road if at all possible until the car is removed. It is being reported that traffic is beginning to move again, but delays on public bus routes can be expected following the hold-up.
